Getting Air Conditioner Ready for Summer
Now is the time to inspect your air conditioning system before the heat of the summer is upon us, and before you use your air conditioner. There are several basic procedures you can follow to do this.
Check you outside condenser unit to make sure it is clear of debris. Take a garden hose and hose down the unit. Next, inside the house, locate your filter. This is located next to your furnace. Make sure the filter is clean. A dirty filter restricts the flow of air, making it work harder, and will increase your energy costs.
Inspect your air ducts. Make sure they are clean and free of obstructions. Also look for any signs of mildew. Mildew or mold in your ducts will be a sure cause of health problems. It is important to make sure that the air you breath in your home is clean and filtered.
